Instagram Checklist Tips & Tricks

Instagram Tips

Social Media is ever-changing these days, from updates to the algorithms and new trends being created – it can be difficult to stay on track!

As we manage many local businessess social media platforms around Blackpool and Poulton, we thought we’d put a handy little checklist together for you to get you started on your social journey (how nice are we!).

Instagram:

Bio – Now your Instagram bio is quite an important thing, it’s a quick and simple snippet of your business that people glance over when they stumble across your account. We’d recommend bullet points if you offer a range of services you’d like to showcase. Alternatively, you could put a short, snappy description of what you do and a call-to-action (see the photo below).

So in short here’s a little list of what to add in your bio:

» Your company name
» Your service
» A description
» Your location
» Your website

Story Highlights – These can be quite handy as they’re like little snippets of your business. If you’re not a big Instagram user then you’ll probably be wondering what a ‘highlight’ is. A highlight is a place where you can save your stories and give them category names. Your followers (both new and old) can then click and view them whenever they like and as many times as they’d like to. We’ve got a few categories in ours, ranging from ‘our clients’ to a list of our services.

Instagram

Content – Now keeping your profile constantly updated is a great way to show your customers that your business is active (this is the same for any platform).

Now we see a lot of companies trying to stay up to date, and they do, however the content they post isn’t great half of the time. They use images that don’t showcase much, or the image itself isn’t in focus etc… – this (to us) shows that they’re wanting to use their social media to portray their business and get it out there to new potential clients, but aren’t 100% sure on how to do so effectively.

We offer a Social Media Management package where we design the content for you and publish is with the correct descriptions and use of hashtags. Just as a little idea of what we mean, here’s a small list of some of our local clients; Deltaphase ElectricalMak Security , PHH Solicitors, and many more around the Wyre and Fylde area.

Your Audience – It can be tempting for some to buy followers, this is a HUGE mistake to make when you’re trying to grow your account. Those followers won’t interact with your content which tells Instagram that what you’re putting out isn’t great so they won’t push the content.

Whereas if you organically grow your following with people/accounts that are actually interested in what you do, then you’re content is much more likely to get a better reaction and reach more people. It can be difficult to grow your audience, but with consistency, great content and engagement you’ll start seeing those numbers increase!

We hope this information’s made things a little clearer for you to go ahead and start that social journey.
